Daniel Goleman, PhD, a psychologist and journalist, has reported on the brain and behavioral sciences for the New York Times. He is author of the international best-seller Emotional Intelligence and has written about yoga, meditation, and mind-body medicine in several books, including The Meditative Mind; Destructive Emotions: How We Can Overcome Them, an account of a dialogue between the Dalai Lama and a group of neuroscientists, and, most recently, in Altered Traits: Science Reveals How Meditation Transforms Body, Mind, and Brain.
