A 12-Pose Method to Reverse Osteoporosis

Osteoporosis, which literally means porous bone, is a disease in which the density and quality of bone are reduced. It's estimated to affect almost 44 million Americans aged 50 and older, according to the International Osteoporosis Foundation. Referred to as a "silent disease" because bone loss is gradual and painless, osteoporosis often displays no symptoms until the first bone fracture occurs.

Loren Fishman’s pioneering work on yoga and health, including an eight-year research study on yoga for osteoporosis, found that yoga helps to reduce fractures. In this video, Loren offers his 12-pose daily practice, which has been shown to improve bone mineral density, raise bone quality, and have a significant positive impact on both posture and balance. Loren adapts classic yoga poses, making them safe and accessible no matter your level of ability or medical condition.
