Emma Seppala

Emma Seppala, PhD, author of The Happiness Track, is science director of Stanford University’s Center for Compassion and Altruism Research and Education and a lecturer at Yale University, where she designs and adds well-being programs with the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence. She is also faculty director for the Yale School of Management Women’s Leadership Program. A health psychologist and leading expert on happiness, compassion, resilience, and mind-body practices, Emma founded the popular news site Fulfillment Daily and contributes to Psychology Today, Harvard Business Review, and MindBodyGreen. She is also a certified yoga, Pilates, meditation, and breathwork instructor. A sought-after speaker, Emma has addressed academic, corporate, and governmental institutions. She received her bachelor’s degree from Yale University, her master’s from Columbia University, and her doctorate from Stanford University. Originally from Paris, France, she speaks French, English, German, Spanish, and Mandarin Chinese.
