Bio

Hawah Kasat (he/him) is an internationally celebrated author, educator, non-profit leader, podcast host, TEDx speaker, and yogi. He has been studying movement, meditation, and philosophy since childhood. With a lineage tracing back to India, his life has been split between schooling in New Jersey and Washington, D.C., while spending long summers in Mumbai. From birth, he has been immersed in the living traditions, culture, philosophy, and practices of his ancestral homeland.

For over 20 years, Hawah has taught yoga, mindfulness, social-emotional literacy, conflict transformation, the healing arts, and trauma-informed care to a diverse range of students worldwide.  His work spans various settings, including as a featured speaker, performer, and workshop presenter for People to People International, the Congressional Youth Leadership Council, and the Children’s Defense Fund’s Freedom Schools. He has made appearances on XM National Satellite Radio, BBC, Fox News, NBC, ABC, CNN, The Washington Post, NPR, and Al Jazeera.

As a community organizer, Hawah is the cofounder and former executive director of One Common Unity, an award-winning nonprofit organization that has impacted the lives of over 40,000 youth and families. Most recently, he helped launch Roots to Sky Sanctuary, a 125-acre regenerative farm and healing arts center situated in northern Appalachia, where he serves as a managing partner. Over the years, he has authored four books and produced three documentary films. He is the host of “Evolutionary,” a biweekly podcast released in 2024.
