Scholarship Policies and Criteria

Kripalu Acceptance

All Kripalu Professional Trainings have a separate application process for admission. In order to be awarded a scholarship, you must already be accepted.

Scholarship Criteria

All scholarship applicants must demonstrate financial need to receive a partial scholarship award. Please fill out the assets, liabilities, and expenses portion of the application as completely and accurately as possible in order to allow our Scholarship Committee to most accurately assess your level of financial need. Please note that we do not need attached financial documentation. We consider this application to be a trust-based process and rely on applicants’ honest and complete self-report of financial need. Please remember that your accurate representation of need helps us maximize our limited scholarship funds and supports as many students as possible who require financial assistance.

Scholarship Amounts

All scholarships are partial and funds are limited. Scholarships are awarded towards your program cost which includes your tuition and dormitory style housing. If you choose to upgrade your accommodation, your scholarship will no longer apply, with the exception of a medical condition. Although scholarship awards vary according to seasonality and demand for programs, scholarships are typically awarded within the range of 20–40 percent and are considered on a case-by-case basis.


Application Process

We award scholarships on a rolling basis as long as funds remain. There are limited funds available for each program date, therefore, we encourage you to submit your application as early as possible. Submitting an application for a scholarship does not guarantee you a scholarship award. You will receive notification of your scholarship decision via e-mail (if provided) 2–4 weeks from the date we receive your application. If we do not have an e-mail address for you, we will both mail you our scholarship decision and call to inform you of your status.

Scholarship Application Checklist

To apply for a Kripalu Professional Trainings scholarship, please do the following:

  1. Make sure you have applied to the relevant Professional Training program. We cannot process scholarship applications until we receive your program application.
  2. Complete and submit the Kripalu Professional Trainings scholarship application, making sure to report all assets, liabilities, and expenses as completely and accurately as possible. We do not require supporting financial documents.
  3. If you are applying for a scholarship and currently live internationally, please describe in the section entitled “additional financial consideration” any currency-conversion variables the Kripalu Professional Trainings Scholarship Committee should take into account in assessing your level of need.
  4. Wait for an e-mail from our Kripalu Professional Trainings Scholarship Committee with the final decision on your scholarship award. You will receive notification of your scholarship decision via e-mail 2–4 weeks from the date of receipt of your scholarship application. If you do not have an e-mail address, we will send it by regular mail and will also call to inform you of your status.
