Admissions
Application Process
Admission to the program is determined on a rolling basis. Given high program demand, we strongly recommend that applicants submit applications as early as possible.
Kripalu Center does not discriminate in admissions, administration, or educational policies with regard to race, ethnic origin, gender, age, sexual orientation, creed, or religion.
To apply to the Kripalu Yoga Teacher Training, please:
- Review information on dates, costs, faculty, curricula, and general information about Kripalu on our website.
- Download and complete the Kripalu Yoga Teacher Training 200-hour or Kripalu Yoga Teacher Training 500-hour program application and make sure to indicate your preferred program dates, acceptance of the program agreements, and completion of the short-answer questions.
- Submit the $25 application processing fee as a check, or call our office with your credit card information available. Checks can be made payable to Kripalu Center. For international applicants, checks must be drawn on a domestic bank. If you prefer to make a payment by credit card, please call the Kripalu Professional Trainings office at 1-800-848-8702.
- Wait for a letter from Kripalu clarifying our admissions decision. This letter should arrive by e-mail within two weeks of the day we receive your application. If you do not have an e-mail address, we will send the letter by regular mail and will also call you to inform you of your status. Kripalu reserves the right to also require a phone interview if deemed necessary for an admissions decision.
Entrance Requirements
Applications are reviewed by the Professional Training Admissions Committee on a rolling basis to determine that students meet the entrance requirements outlined below.
Accepted students must:
- Be 18 years of age
- Submit a completed program application and the required program application fee
- Display English language competency
- Demonstrate the skills, abilities, emotional maturity, and mental stability to safely teach Kripalu Yoga
- Exhibit the ability to contribute to a safe and cohesive learning environment
- Show medical and mental health readiness to fully participate in all required aspects of the program
- Have two years of yoga experience
- Have practiced yoga regularly for the past six months
- Have previous exposure to Kripalu Yoga (Find a Kripalu Yoga teacher near you.)
Additional entrance requirement for the Kripalu Yoga Teacher Training 500-hour:
- Proof of successful completion of a Yoga Teacher Training 200-hour program from a Yoga Alliance-registered school.
