Kripalu Yoga Teacher Training: Before You Apply


accreditation

The Kripalu School of Yoga is licensed as a private occupational school by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and is a Yoga Alliance–registered school.

admissions

The Kripalu School of Yoga is committed to maintaining the experiential depth and high standards of professionalism that distinguish all Kripalu programs. KSY does not discriminate on the basis of age, race, disability, gender, marital or family status, nationality, religion, or sexual preference.

In determining an applicant’s suitability to be trained as a helping professional, the Admissions Committee considers the impact of health considerations on the program, other students, and staff. If an applicant feels that his or her application has been wrongly denied, the issue can be raised with the Director of Professional Training whose decision shall be final.

payment and cancellation policies

Payment Policy
Fifty percent of total program cost (tuition and housing/commuter fee) is due at time of registration to reserve program space and housing. The remaining balance of each session is due 5 days before program start date.

Cancellation and Refund Policy
Refunds (less a $100 processing fee) will be given according to the following schedule: For cancellations 2 or more days prior to start of program, 100% of deposit will be refunded. Less than 2 days prior to and up to completion of 25% of program, 25% of program cost will be refunded. No other refunds or credits are available. The standard cancellation policy applies to all other chanrges.

Notes on Terms

  • For programs offered in two 12-day sessions (referred to as “2x12” format) in which both parts are required for program completion, program costs refers to the total cost of both program parts. Refunds are based on the full program length (24 days, not 12 days), according to the terms of the cancellation policy above.
  • For programs with elective multiple session or modules, program cost is determined based on one session or module at a time. Program start date refers to the start of each session or module.

commuters

If you choose not to stay at Kripalu, commuter spaces are available. Please contact Registration at 866-200-5203 for current commuter cost. The cost includes meals and full use of the facilities when you are not in program sessions. student complaint procedure

From time to time differences in interpretation of school policies may arise among students, faculty, and/or the administration. When such disputes occur, a major contributing factor is usually a miscommunication or misunderstanding. Both Kripalu Center and KSY put a premium on conscious communication and urge both students and staff to communicate any problems that arise directly to the individual(s) involved. If the problem cannot be resolved in this manner, the Professional Training office should be notified. Normally, these informal procedures will lead to a resolution of differences. If the complaint cannot be resolved in this way, the student may contact the Director of Professional Training. If the matter remains unresolved, students may contact the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, Office of Proprietary Schools, 350 Main St, Malden MA 02148-5023, or e-mail proprietaryschools@doe.mass.edu.

conditions for dismissal

  • Failure to fulfill financial agreements
  • Use of drugs or alcohol on the property, or attending class under the influence
  • Failure to attend sessions
  • Behaving in a manner that may be harmful to the learning environment or reputation of the school.
