Discover your love of writing through your own life stories. Whether you’re a beginner or a longtime writer, Sense Writing is your way in. Evidence shows that every time you sense, imagine, or move in the world, neuronal loops are activated in the brain, reinforcing old patterns or making new connections. Through this process, you can train your nervous system away from habitual anxiety and blocks and toward new patterns of creative flow.
In the supportive environment created by award-winning playwright Madelyn Kent, you immerse yourself in Sense Writing, integrating visualization, movement, and writing exercises. Learn to
- Interrupt body and language patterns that inhibit writing
- Find pleasure in all stages of writing
- Complete one or two new pieces
- Set creative goals and work toward them effectively.
Experience Madelyn’s blend of writing and somatic education to balance your nervous system, find lightness in your body, and mine your imagination.
Note Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing and bring a pen and notebook. You may bring an iPad (set on silent); other computers, because of the noise, are not allowed. Movement will be light and Feldenkrais-based.
