For healing professionals, people interested in becoming healing professionals; and everyone interested in personal and spiritual growth.
SomaSoul Somatic Expressive Therapy is a mind-body healing modality that integrates the power of Body-Centered Gestalt Psychotherapy with the heart of spiritual practice and the freedom of the expressive arts. Our brilliant nervous systems record our life stories in our brain and body: Joyful experiences fuel our body’s aliveness; painful experiences express as chronic tension, pain or collapse. This workshop helps you discover your body’s story.
In this workshop, you
- Access your body’s energy through expressive movement explorations focusing on heart, legs, pelvis, gut, and spine
- Experience the deepest reservoirs of emotion and energy through somatic/visceral movement exercises
- Rewrite elements of your body’s story, from tension and pain to freedom and healing
- Transform limiting beliefs through a dynamic expressive-arts process.
Note The Leven Institute for Expressive Movement is an approved training program by ISMETA (International Somatic Movement Education and Therapy Association). Throughout the year, Dan offers four workshops that can be taken individually for personal development or collectively as part of SomaSoul: Somatic Expressive Therapy Level 1 Training. Upcoming trainings include The Somatic Healing Process, February 23–28, 2014; and SomaSoul Facilitation: The Art of Being, April 20–25, 2014. Those interested in becoming a Registered Somatic Movement Therapist through the Leven Institute need to complete Levels 1 and 2 in both SomaSoul and Shake Your Soul®.
