For those familiar with vigorous, heated vinyasa yoga.
According to the ancient yogis, there is no need to seek outside ourselves. Unbounded joy is already present as our true nature. The task is to shift our viewpoint and assumptions about the nature of reality and remove the "knots" that surround the heart. Once that tangle of knots is undone, the yogis say, there is an experience of jyoti, an ecstatic release of the inner light.
To create the appropriate conditions for just such a release, we will chant, meditate, and study scriptural passages from the yogic texts. The centerpiece of this weekend is vigorous vinyasa yoga flows practiced in a moderately heated room. The heated environment helps to detoxify the body and allows us to safely explore postures that would not be possible in a cold room. The sequences we will practice are systematically designed to work through physical and psychic knots that block our inner radiance.
You will return home exhilarated in body and mind, deeply connected to the Self, and with the skills to build a home practice that will keep you in touch with the insights gained this weekend.
