The fact that grief is a normal reaction to loss doesn’t make it any easier to go through. Yoga can be instrumental in addressing the symptoms of grief because it focuses on mind, body, and spirit, the three areas where grief manifest—and often goes unacknowledged. In this workshop, somatic health practitioner and yoga instructor Antonio Sausys will alternate teaching talks with experiential work, presenting skillful tools for managing grief and assisting others with their grief reactions. You will learn
- The physical symptoms of grief and its psycho-neurological basis
- Simple yoga exercises that address symptoms while transforming grief into a resource for personal growth
- Western and Eastern models of the psyche that clarify the importance of the heart chakra in both physical and emotional health, especially in regard to the yogic theory of attachment
- Helpful techniques, thoughtful insights, and useful tips for relieving grief.
Note Please bring a picture of a recent loss and a piece of cloth that means something to you and that you can practice on (a sarong, blanket, or something similar).
