For marital therapists, psychotherapists, and other mental health professionals.
This is a rare opportunity to study with Harville Hendrix, best-selling coauthor of Getting the Love You Want and founder of Imago Relationship Therapy, who will introduce his comprehensive and systematic theory and therapy of couplehood.
“Imago” refers to an unconscious image composed of significant character traits and behaviors of primary caretakers in childhood and which guides our selection of an intimate partner in adult life. Our unconscious pairs us with our “Imago match,” a person with whom we will recreate the drama of our childhood in an attempt to rewrite it. Without consciousness, however, the project of the unconscious fails.
Imago Relationship Therapy helps couples transform their unconscious relationship into a conscious partnership. Using Imago dialogue, the relationship becomes a therapeutic engagement, transforming consciousness, healing childhood wounds, and promoting emotional and spiritual growth.
