For all levels; no prior experience necessary.

A unified approach to yoga postures and formal sitting meditation brings both relaxation and the liberating power of clear seeing to every aspect of our lives. The teachings this week focus on mindfulness yoga, inspired by the tradition of T. K. V. Desikachar, and vipassana (insight meditation), from the Buddha’s meditation instructions on full awareness with breathing.

Our week together includes

  • Mindful yoga sessions each morning and afternoon
  • Guidance for sitting and walking meditation
  • Mindful breathing and body-awareness practices to calm and steady the mind and open the heart
  • Insight into the nature of the mind and body as a unified process.

Vipassana meditation is designed to help liberate us from conflict and confusion, making it possible to realize our full potential as human beings. Instruction includes ways to practice during free time at Kripalu and when we return home. There are ample opportunities to ask questions and discuss experiences on and off the mat and cushion.

Note Those who wish can maintain periods of silent practice outside program sessions.
