The soft palate, in the back of the throat, is the key to opening up the central axis of the body and mind, the river of wisdom within us all. When you learn how to lift the soft palate, ordinary postures can become an extraordinary experience of joy.
Tom Gillette, founder and director of Eyes of the World Yoga Center in Providence, Rhode Island, will teach you to integrate soft palate alignment into your asana practice as well as daily life.
Come experience how soft palate alignment brings the consciousness of the yogi into the unitive state, where there is deep insight into your interconnection with everyone and everything in the universe. This weekend will feature multimedia presentations and practice, including breathwork and moderate postures performed with a loving, meditative presence. The purpose of postures is to exercise and refresh the body so that it can ultimately rest in stillness and allow your thoughts to become quiet.
From there, we will naturally move into ecstasy and insight, accessing inner wisdom.
