The Viniyoga™ Perspective

Viniyoga is an approach to yoga that adapts the various techniques and methods of practice to the unique condition, needs, and interests of each individual. It aims to give practitioners the tools needed to individualize and actualize the process of self-discovery and personal transformation. Gary Kraftsow evolved this approach from the teachings of T. Krishnamacharya and T. K. V. Desikachar.

These workshops explore the outer and inner goals of asana, pranayama, and meditation from the Viniyoga perspective. Join Gary for all three programs, or take the one that most interests you.

Meditation: Optimizing Cognitive Capacity

What is possible with meditation? This workshop focuses on the means and methods for achieving both the outer and inner goals of meditation. Beginning with the outer goals of overcoming distraction and increasing the capacity to sustain focused attention, you move on to deepening your capacity for self-reflection, identifying how memory and conditioning influence perception, and cultivating nonattachment. Gary also gives careful consideration to the inner goals of recognizing the true nature of Self and cultivating insight and wisdom, or buddhi shakti.

Combine two back-to-back programs or all three of Gary’s August programs for a ten percent tuition discount for each program. Please call to register.
