Could you benefit from a unique and joyful way to deepen your mindfulness and/or yoga practice, or to start one? If so, what’s that got to do with … harmonica? Well, breath focus is a basic element of most yoga, mindfulness, and stress-reduction methods. And what better way to practice this than with the inhalations and exhalations of a catchy blues-rock rhythm on the harmonica? Within minutes, you’ll be improvising simple blues and rock “harp.”

After that, you’ll learn to
  • Play in duets and small groups
  • Integrate harmonica with asanas, enhancing vinyasa for new or experienced yogis and yoginis
  • Play and use HarMantras™ and Harmonica Kirtans
  • Short-circuit stress, with or without a harmonica.

With lots of class interaction and David’s personal instruction on harmonica technique, by Friday you’ll be playing everything from Beethoven’s Ninth to amplified blues/rock jam sessions. In the process, you’ll gain superbly effective mindfulness skills that can be applied anywhere, anytime!

Note Tuition includes two harmonicas, a 96-page workbook, and a CD for continued home study. Each workshop is customized to meet the group’s interests regarding musical styles and the balance of yoga, music, and mindfulness training.
