Karen Maezen Miller
Karen Maezen Miller is a Zen Buddhist priest and teacher at the Hazy Moon Zen Center in Los Angeles. A wife and mother, she leads retreats throughout the country and is the author of books that illuminate Zen wisdom in everyday life, including Paradise in Plain Sight; Hand Wash Cold; and Momma Zen. Karen began her Zen practice in 1993 and was ordained as a priest in 2003. She and her family live in Sierra Madre, California, where she devotes herself to weeding a 100-year-old Japanese garden in her backyard.
