Sekou Sylla

Sekou Sylla is a former principal dancer, acrobat, and percussionist with Les Ballets Africains, the National Dance Company of the Republic of Guinea, West Africa. Sekou has taught and performed in Europe, Africa, South America, Canada, Puerto Rico, and throughout the United States. He teaches African drumming at Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts and is a sought-after drummer, dancer, and choreographer there, as well as at Smith College, the University of Massachusetts, and Amherst College. He has been in residence and performed at many venues, including the Federal University of Bahia in Brazil and Jacob’s Pillow in Becket, Massachusetts.
