Nicole Culos-Reed

Presenter

Dr. Nicole Culos-Reed is a professor of Health and Exercise Psychology in the Faculty of Kinesiology, adjunct professor in the Department of Oncology in the Cumming School of Medicine, and director of the Health and Wellness Lab and Thrive Centre at the University of Calgary. Her research takes a multidisciplinary approach to understanding and improving the quality of life of individuals living with and beyond cancer—developing, delivering, and evaluating physical activity programs to address the physical and psychological challenges experienced throughout treatment and into survivorship. Current yoga trials include a multisite study examining a yoga intervention for fatigue in those with pediatric cancer, and delivering online yoga to young adults with cancer under the Canada-wide EXCEL study. Dr. Culos-Reed is also the cofounder of Thrive Health, an online educational company building capacity in health, fitness, and yoga professionals to deliver safe and effective exercise and yoga oncology resources. As a health behavior-change researcher, she is passionate about building capacity within cancer care to safely and effectively support individuals with cancer to live well and move more.
