Ira Wood

Ira Wood is the author of three autobiographical novels: The Kitchen Man, Going Public, and Storm Tide, with Marge Piercy, with whom he has also written So You Want to Write, an award-winning text about writing fiction and memoirs. He has written screenplays for Universal Pictures and his short pieces, published in Ploughshares, the Utne Reader, and many other magazines, have been nominated for the Pushcart Prize. He is founder of Leapfrog Press, one of the premiere “boutique” publishers in the United States, and his popular workshops emphasize accessing deeply personal material, overcoming the inner censor, and transcending the fear of writing about friends and family.
