Crispina ffrench

Crispina ffrench began working as a college student entrepreneur. From there she ran a wholesale manufacturing company that designed and produced recycled wares for 21 years. Her work has been featured in print and for sale internationally since 1987. Crispina was an early contributor to the Deconstruction/Reconstruction Craft movement and continues to contribute to that school with her book, The Sweater Chop Shop and her constantly developing body of work. She is a co-founder of Alchemy Initiative in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, and a large-scale recycling project involving the reuse of a former cathedral that incorporates urban agriculture, artists’ studios, workshops, and community building events.
