David Simons

David Simons is a composer and performer specializing in percussion, theremin, electronics, homemade instruments, and world music. A teaching artist with Young Audiences, Midori & Friends, and the Brooklyn Philharmonic, David has recorded several CDs, including two CDs on Tzadik (Fung Sha Noon and Prismatic Hearing), three CDs for Gamelan Son of Lion, and many others. David also tours internationally and composes for film, theater, and dance. His awards include the Rockefeller Foundation Bellagio residency, two fellowships from the New York Foundation for the Arts, and numerous commissions from Meet The Composer.
