KDZ: The Kripalu Drummers

KDZ: The Kripalu Drummers have been performing for more than seven years and are based in the Berkshire region of Massachusetts. They play regularly at Kripalu (the name KDZ is an abbreviation of "The Kripalu Drummers(z)") and at concert performances, drum circles, drum programs, and other events throughout the Northeast. The ensemble currently consists of six members: Shaun J. Laframboise, Bob Cronin, Adrian Bennett, Henry Horning, Kalpesh Alan Gaither, and Allison Gemmel.

Drumming has been a part of Kripalu Center since the 1980s. Originally requested by dance teachers for their classes, the primal rhythms managed to move instructors and participants in more ways than one. As a result, the members of KDZ started drumming regularly for Kripalu’s now famous Saturday Danskinetics® sessions. KDZ has one self-titled CD and are currently planning their next album, which will likely feature a healthy mix of tradition and innovation. www.kdzdrum.com
