Michael Lee

Michael Lee, MA, is a master educator and yogi who founded Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy in 1985 after many years of deep yoga practice, including two years as a Kripalu resident and faculty member. There are now more than 1,500 Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy practitioners throughout the globe. Michael is the author of two books, Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy: A Bridge from Body to Soul and Turn Stress Into Bliss. He has led workshops and presented at conferences worldwide for the past 38 years. He has also contributed to several books in the field of yoga therapy, including a chapter in Beyond Talk Therapy, Dr. Timothy McCall's book Yoga as Medicine, YogaTherapy and Integrative Medicine, and the recently published Yoga and Science in Pain Care. In June 2016, he was honored as the opening keynote speaker at the International Association of Yoga Therapists conference and in 2018 at the Yoga Australia Conference, the International Congress on Integrative Medicine and Health 2018, the Toronto Yoga Conference 2018, the Japan Yoga Therapy Conference 2018, and the first Global Consortium on Yoga Therapy, at Sendai, Japan in 2018.
