The New York Times writes of her: "Fleming seemed to transcend the material world and enter a realm of pure spirit . . . a wondrous choreographic metamorphosis." Twice awarded fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, Maureen studied extensively in Japan with Kazuo Ohno before touring internationally. In 1984, she became an artist-in-residence at La MaMa E.T.C. in New York City, and since 1994 has conducted annual workshops at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. www.maureenfleming.com
