Maureen Fleming

Maureen Fleming is a choreographer and dancer who has gained international recognition on five continents for her singular form of multimedia performance. The New York Times writes of her: "Fleming seemed to transcend the material world and enter a realm of pure spirit . . . a wondrous choreographic metamorphosis." Awarded numerous fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, Maureen studied extensively in Japan with Kazuo Ohno before touring internationally. In 1984, she became an artist-in-residence at La MaMa E.T.C. in New York City, and since 1994 has conducted workshops at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, the Seoul Institute of the Arts, and the Juilliard School. www.maureenfleming.com
