Linda Trichter Metcalf

Linda Trichter Metcalf, PhD, author and educator, has been hailed as "an original thinker in the field of creativity." She created the practice of Proprioceptive Writing® (PW) in the mid-1970s, and in 1982, she and Tobin Simon founded the Proprioceptive Writing Center in Maine, where they used PW techniques to help would-be writers find their voices. They later moved the PW Center to New York City, where Linda taught group and online classes, conducted PW therapy, and led the PW Teacher Certification Program. In 2006, they reestablished the PW Center in the Bay Area of California. She is the author, with Tobin Simon, of Writing the Mind Alive: The Proprioceptive Method for Finding Your Authentic Voice. www.pwriting.org
