Deane Juhan

Deane Juhan originally trained at Esalen Institute where he was on the massage crew from 1973 until 1989. In 1984 he published Job’s Body: A Handbook for Bodywork, the culmination of his years of experience, study, and teaching at Esalen. This material led to the development of classes in anatomy, physiology, and psychology specifically designed for bodyworkers, which he continues to teach in the U.S., Canada, and Europe. While at Esalen he trained with Dr. Milton Trager, becoming a Trager practitioner and instructor. He developed and currently chairs the anatomy and physiology department of the Trager certification program.
