Job OpportunitiesUpdated daily. Front Desk Registrar Full-time. Kripalu is seeking a professional individual with exemplary customer service skills who is interested in a long-term commitment to serving our Kripalu guests and community. The successful candidate will be a team player able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment with many demands. A willingness to take responsibility and work with a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays is also required. Household Staff Member Part-time. Detail-oriented individuals wanted to join a dynamic household staff committed to upholding high standards of order and cleanliness. Responsibilities include custodial and guest room work—up to 24 hours per week, 9 am to 3 pm. Kitchen Support Staff Full-Time/Part-time. Join a team of kitchen staff committed to providing excellent food service support. Support staff perform a variety of work flows, including serving meals, operating the dish machine, managing waste, participating in deep cleaning projects, stocking, and cross-training. The successful candidates will have general knowledge of food service operations and health codes, customer service experience, and be reliable, organized, and detail-oriented. Must be courteous towards self and others, be able to work effectively and sensitively with staff at all levels of the organization, and be physically fit and able to stand, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds. Kripalu Shop Media Assistant Buyer Full-time. Responsible person needed to assist media buyers for busy retail store. This person will purchase all books and program related materials for the Kripalu Shop. The ideal applicant will have a working knowledge of purchase procedures, merchandising, and budgeting, as well as good computer and communication skills. Licensed Nutritionist/Registered Dietitian Per Diem. Support Kripalu’s Integrative Weight Loss and Health for Life program participants and other guests by providing nutrition consultations based on Kripalu’s nutrition philosophy. Experience with complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) preferred. Life Guard Part-time. The life guard at Kripalu Center plays a vital role in insuring the safety of guests and staff while they are using the lake. The life guard’s primary responsibilities are oversight of all activities at the lake front (including swimming and boating), cleanliness of the lakefront property and adjacent facilities, and providing first aid as needed. Life guards must be trained and certified in CPR, first aid, and water safety. Massage Therapists Part-time, temporary. We are seeking a therapist to become part of our integrated healing and healing arts team at Kripalu. Our Healing Arts therapists are known for the high quality and compassionate, mindful delivery of our services. Applicants must have at least two years of experience as massage therapists, 500-hour certification with significant additional continuing education, and be licensed by the Tri-town Board of Health or the state of Massachusetts. Applicants with neuromuscular or Thai massage certification or applicants who are willing to train in Ayurvedic bodywork are preferred. Personal Trainer Per Diem. Kripalu is looking to hire an experienced personal trainer to provide one-on-one consultations for our Fitness Challenge participants, Health for Life program participants, and other guests. The ideal candidate will have experience working with people with chronic health conditions and will have experience with the practice of yoga. Prep Cook Full-time. Kripalu is seeking a dynamic team-oriented prep cook who thrives a fast-paced setting. Responsibilities include assisting chefs in meal preparation from a designed menu, as well as maintaining proper safety and sanitation practices. Requires the ability to stand; reach with hands and arms; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl; and taste or smell. Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 lbs; frequently lift/and or move up to 25 lbs; and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Reservationist Full-time. Provide knowledgeable information about Kripalu and its programs and housing options. Handle reservations and inquiries with excellent customer service and creative utilization of resources. Excellent customer service and phone skills and computer experience required. Must be available some evenings and weekends. Veggie Prep Staff Member Full-time. Successful candidates will be a team player and support the cooks in providing three meals a day, as well as preparing for specialized programs. Daily responsibilities include: washing, slicing, and dicing vegetables; sorting beans; pressing and cutting tofu; and cutting tempeh, while maintaining a safe and sanitary workplace. This position involves frequent standing and reaching; occasional stooping, kneeling, and crouching; and regularly lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Requires good physical condition, a strong commitment to excellence, accountability, dependability, and the ability to work effectively and sensitively with different staff members. A high priority is placed on interpersonal skills, open and conscious communication, reliability, organization, and attention to detail. Management opportunities are available for the right candidate.
