Every day our skin loses vitamins due to exposure to these elements, which aggravates the visible signs of aging. Dr. Des Fernandes, world-renowned plastic and reconstructive surgeon, pioneered the use of vitamin A in high effective doses and antioxidants over a decade ago, establishing Environ as a leader in skin care. Dr Fernandes became interested in the mechanics of skin cancer and the skin following the untimely deaths of two young patients due to melanoma. Through his research, he discovered the essential role of vitamin A in skin health, and he became determined to create treatments that would maintain healthy skin.

Environ skin-care products are intended for use on all skin types, on people of all ages, and for all genders. The products are manufactured only from the highest quality ingredients and fresh, active vitamins. They are hypo-allergenic and colorant free. Preservatives and fragrance are only used when necessary. Kripalu is pleased to introduce two leading results-orientated facials using Environ products.


This hydrating and exfoliating full-body treatment consists of the gentle removal of dry skin cells, followed by a penetrating massage of oils and creams containing vitamins A, C, and E as well as beta-carotene. A seaweed mask remineralizes, tones, and smoothes the skin. This luxurious renewal treatment provides intense hydration, tightening, firming, and regeneration of new healthy skin. Unlike deep-tissue massage, the subtle touch of lymph stimulation has a sensitive and attentive quality that is gentle yet profound. The Healing Arts Department at Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health supports health and healing through massage, skin- and body-care, Ayurvedic treatments, lifestyle consultations, and more. Appointments are available for guests taking a program at Kripalu as well as for visitors (who may want to consider a Kripalu Day Pass).
