Kripalu is committed to making its services accessible to anyone seeking to enhance their life and realize their human potential, regardless of background or financial status. Within the limits of its resources, Kripalu provides scholarships to individuals who otherwise would not be able to participate. Eligibility is assessed based on the size and income of your household. In 2007, Kripalu offered more than $400,000 in scholarships. In 2008, Kripalu hopes to increase that amount to $500,000.
Scholarships are made possible by the generous support of Kripalu’s patrons and donors.
General Scholarship Fund
Partial scholarships for most courses and programs are available to people who demonstrate financial need. Scholarships typically cover 40 percent of total costs, including tuition, housing, and meals. Some programs have higher or lower scholarship amounts. Meeting the eligibility guidelines for a scholarship is not a guarantee that you will receive one, as housing and program space are limited.

Diversity Scholarships
If you belong to a minority group or other type of underserved population, you may qualify for a diversity scholarship, which covers up to 80 percent of your total cost for tuition, room, and meals. A generous donor created the Rainbow Scholarship Fund, which provides yoga teacher training and Kripalu Yoga Teachers Association (KYTA) conference scholarships to people of diverse needs and backgrounds. Rainbow scholarships are not limited to those belonging to a minority group. Applications for diversity or Rainbow scholarships are submitted using the standard scholarship application form.

Educational Finance for Professional Trainings
Student loans are available for those pursuing professional training at Kripalu Center through SLM Financial, a Sallie Mae Company. See our Financial Aid for Professional Trainings page for more information.
For those attending other programs at Kripalu, direct-to-consumer loans from SLM financial are also available.
Work exchange
Kripalu Center does not offer work exchanges for our programs, but our Volunteer Program allows you to be supported by the practices of yoga and an inquiry into karma yoga and service.
Many individuals find that our volunteer programs provide an affordable way to deepen their Kripalu connection and experience.
